Today is Friday, which means we post felid content. Here is a melanistic Pampas Cat from the savannas in the northern Cerrado. The Pampas Cat is mostly distributed in open landscapes of South America. In the West along the Andes Mountain range, across Ecuador, Perú, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. It also ranges Eastwards along the Pantanal and Chaco regions of Bolivia, Paraguay, and Brazil, extending all the way to the northern Cerrado. In the South it reaches Uruguay, but it is extinct in the Argentinean Pampas. Throughout this wide range, the species is very rare.
