Northern Tiger Cat

More pictures from our latest field trip to our Caatinga site. Here we have a male northern tiger cat. We have detected several individuals from this species at the site, which is excellent news as the species is globally threatened. Northern Tiger Cats are rare throughout their entire range, and their main stronghold seem to be the northern savannas of Brazil (currently threatened by soy agricultural expansion).
