Margay

It's Felid Friday today! Here we have margay staring at one of our cameras at the Atlantic Forest site. Margays are the most arboreal of the Neotropical cats, they are able to descend head first from a tree, and can rotate their paws 180 degrees. Margays are found in forested areas throughout the Neotropics. Though we often think of margays as rainforest inhabitants, Projeto Gatos do Mato has recorded the species in the semi-arid Caatinga of Brazil.
