Southern Tamandua

Here we have a South American lesser anteater from the savannas of Brazil's mid-north. The species is found throughout South America, from Venezuela to Uruguay, and its distribution also includes the island of Trinidad. A nocturnal animal, they feed mostly on ants and termites.
