Crab-eating raccoon

An adult individual triggers one of our camera traps in the Caatinga biome. The species is found across all of South America (except Chile), and its range extends marginally into Central America (restricted to Panamá and Costa Rica). An opportunist by nature, it will feed on pretty much anything it finds.
