Lesser Grison

Individual from the Cerrado in Brazil's midnorth. This species is smaller and more common than the Greater Grison (Galictis vittata), with a mean weight of 1.2-2.4 kg. They are distributed in open landscapes of South America, south of the Amazon Basin. As carnivores, they feed on small rodents, birds, lizards, and snakes. They are a diurnal species.
