We hear an agonistic call - used as a defensive strategy - issued by the Bischoff Treefrog (Boana bischoffi). The toad was found paralyzed by poison from the spider-armed (Phoneutria nigriventer). The spider was standing on the branch, holdind the frog by inserting its chelicerae into the dorsal region of the frog.
This spider belongs to the Ctenidae family, known for predating different species of anurans. Members of the Ctenidae family are nocturnal and expect the prey to be close enough to be captured.
